Hello and welcome to the Fugazi Covers Project Blog, where I’ll be posting updates about who’s doing what. We’ve already got some folks signing up, so here’s a list of who’s called dibs on specific tracks so far.
Gold Streets - Blueprint (Repeater)
Daniel Decriscio - Smallpox Champion (In On The Killtaker)
Jeffrey Opdyke - Waiting Room (13 Songs)
Mike Barthel - Arpeggiator (End Hits)
Beastmaster Romance & The Earl of Bandwidth - Repeater (Repeater)
Did I miss anybody? I know other people have expressed general interest as well, which is awesome. Let me know when you pick a song and I’ll post it.
I’d really like to make sure that everybody who’s interested in participating here gets a chance to contribute something, so I’m hoping that we can all help each other out when needed - setting people up with each other to work on a track together, helping folks out who need help getting things recorded, etc. So in that spirit, we currently have a drummer looking for some project bandmates (Jeff - maybe you want to write a comment letting folks know what sort of cover you’re looking to do) and another looking to find a way to get some drums recorded (anybody care to offer up access to some practice space and a mic?)
Finally I’ve got an invitation for you. Next Wednesday (May 14) is Bike Night at the Brooklyn Brewery. The brewery is one of Braking the Cycle’s sponsors, so a bunch of teams are setting up fundraising tables - selling food, etc. The Rims (me, Tina, Mike, Jeffrey) will be selling baked goods. But the tidbit you may be most interested to hear is that there will be $1 DRAFTS. Come hang out and have some quality beer for cheap!
The details:
Bike Night at the Brooklyn Brewery
Wednesday, May 14th, 6:30PM-9:30PM
The Brooklyn Brewery
79 N. 11th Street

Hope to see you there!
